Dubai's Rental Disputes Center (RDC) closed 2,350 cases through amicable settlement between January and the end of September 2026, with claims worth a combined Dh401 million. Each case took six days on average. The centre released the figures on 9 October.
The cases went through the RDC's Conciliation and Settlement Department. This route runs apart from a contested case that ends in a court ruling. When a tenant and a landlord reach terms, the supervising judge approves them, and the agreement becomes an enforceable instrument.
The six-day average applies only to cases settled this way over those nine months. Khaleej Times noted that it does not describe how long every rental dispute in Dubai takes.
RDC chairman Judge Abdulqader Mousa Mohammed said the results show the mechanism can bring rental disputes to "swift and effective conclusions." The centre, set up under Decree No. 26 of 2013, handles disputes over leases and jointly owned property in Dubai and its free zones.
For tenants and landlords, this offers a way to try to resolve a disagreement over a lease without lengthy proceedings. Once the judge signs off, the settlement binds both sides.
Khaleej Times reported the figures, and the centre's full statement appeared on Zawya.
