Kings of Leon replace Zara Larsson at Abu Dhabi F1 concerts on 3 December

Kings of Leon will take Zara Larsson's place on the opening night of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix concert series. The American band will co-headline with Lewis Capaldi at Etihad Live on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, on Thursday, 3 December. The change was announced on 28 October.

Organiser Ethara confirmed that Larsson, who was announced in February, can no longer appear. The reason for her withdrawal has not been disclosed.

The announcement completes the four-night line-up. Jennifer Lopez and Alex Warren perform on 4 December, Imagine Dragons on 5 December, and The Chainsmokers and The Script close the series on race day, 6 December. The race weekend runs from 3 to 6 December at Yas Marina Circuit.

The concerts belong to the Yasalam presented by etisalat entertainment programme. It opens on 2 December with Andrea Bocelli at the Yasalam Classics concert at Etihad Arena. On 4 December, Anyma performs his ÆDEN show at the Official After-Party. DJs Black Coffee, CamelPhat and Shimza play at 16/360 across three days.

The band's 10th studio album, O My Beloved, is due out on 6 November. David Powell, Chief Portfolio & Strategy Officer at Ethara, said the pairing with Capaldi "makes for a strong opening" to the series.

Only holders of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix tickets can enter the concerts. Gulf News reported that entry comes with eligible ticket packages, and upgrades are also offered. Visitors based in Dubai who plan to attend can look at Abu Dhabi tours for trips to the emirate.
