Global Village in Dubai will hold Diwali celebrations from 6 to 10 November. The programme includes a 600-drone show on 8 November, the park's first baithak and a Diwali mela running all five days. Every activity is covered by the regular entry ticket.

The baithak is a South Asian musical gathering in which the audience sits near the performers and is invited to sing along. It takes place on the Main Stage on 6 November, from 8pm to 9pm. Gulf News reported that City FM is a partner in the session. The evening also marks Dhanteras, which opens the Diwali period.

On 7 November, the park will offer interactive games with prizes for guests.

The drone show is scheduled for 8pm on 8 November, which is Diwali itself. The 600 drones will form Diwali-themed shapes over the Stunt Arena and the Syria Pavilion.

Mela, food and children's activities

The Diwali Mela is organised with the India Pavilion and set up in the Commercial Activation area. Stalls will offer festive decorations, gifts, snacks and sweets. World Avenue will be lined with decorative lamp posts, and "Happy Diwali" signs around the park are meant as photo spots. The Kids Corner will offer activities for children: they can have their faces painted, colour diyas and make rangoli.

Indian dishes are served across the park, including at Indian Chef and Grand Dhaba. The Indian Chaat Bazaar is a food street styled after an Indian wedding. Its stalls sell street snacks such as pani puri and pav bhaji, along with chole bhature, desi noodles and mithai.

Tickets and hours

Gulf News gives entry prices of Dh25 on weekdays and Dh30 on weekends. Carnaval rides and some other attractions cost extra. Khaleej Times reported that tickets can be bought on the Global Village website, in its mobile app or at the gate counters.

The park opens at 4pm and closes at midnight on Sunday to Wednesday. On Thursday to Saturday it stays open until 1am. Because 8 November is a Sunday, the park shuts at midnight, once the drone show has finished.
