Dubai's transport authority, the RTA, will open the last bridge on the World Trade Centre roundabout scheme on Friday, 30 October 2026. The opening completes all major works on the project.

The bridge is one kilometre long and has two lanes. It is designed for about 3,000 vehicles an hour and carries traffic heading out of Al Majlis Street towards 2nd December Street. The RTA says the journey between those two streets will fall from six minutes to one. Average waiting time at the junction is expected to drop from 12 minutes to 90 seconds.

The scheme consists of five bridges, 5km in total, and costs more than Dh696 million. The RTA estimates it will serve over 500,000 residents and visitors. The former roundabout has been turned into an at-grade intersection on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Al Majlis Street leads to Al Mustaqbal Street, Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai International Financial Centre. RTA director general Mattar Al Tayer said the scheme goes together with the Al Mustaqbal Street works, due to finish in 2027. Those works cover 1.5km of bridges and tunnels and a wider street with four lanes each way.

For drivers, the change concerns trips between 2nd December Street, which runs through Jumeirah and Al Satwa, and the trade centre area. Gulf News reported that flow towards Sheikh Rashid Street and Deira should also improve. Visitors attending events at the trade centre use the same corridor.

Gulf News reported the details, citing the RTA. The National and Khaleej Times carried the same announcement.
