Dubai 7s adds HSBC SVNS 3 to 27 to 29 November tournament

The 2026 Emirates Dubai 7s will include a second competition, HSBC SVNS 3, organisers have said. The tournament runs from 27 to 29 November at The Sevens Stadium. This is the first year the event has staged the competition.

Festival Director Mathew Tait said the weekend will be the world's biggest international sevens tournament. According to him, 28 teams will play across HSBC SVNS and HSBC SVNS 3, with 70 matches over the three days.

The new competition sits one level below HSBC SVNS 2 in the sevens structure. It lets emerging nations work towards promotion to HSBC SVNS 2 and then HSBC SVNS, which carries a chance of Olympic qualification. Sam Pinder, World Rugby Sevens World Series General Manager, said promotion to HSBC SVNS 2 is at stake in Dubai.

Mohammed Alzaabi, Secretary General of the UAE Rugby Federation, said the federation is proud to be part of the event. He said it expects visiting teams and supporters from abroad.

In the main event last year, New Zealand won both the men's and women's titles.

Visitors planning to attend may want to book accommodation early. DoBy lists hotels in Dubai for the tournament dates.

Khaleej Times reported the announcement on 27 October 2026.
